Below please also find more detailed parking instructions upon entering the campus.
UCLA School of Law is a State Bar of California approved MCLE provider. This activity qualifies for 4.5 hours of general MCLE credit.
Parking Instructions for the Law Building:
If you are driving to UCLA, you should enter the campus at Hilgard and Westholme, where you will find a parking and information kiosk. When you arrive at a kiosk, please indicate that you are attending the CRS Symposium at the law school and would like to purchase parking for the day. Parking will be $12 for the day, and you can pay that fee at self-service pay stations located in the parking structures. We have attached a map of the UCLA campus with this e-mail, featuring specific labels for the law school campus, our two main parking lot structures, and the information kiosks. A campus map can also be found at this link: http://maps.ucla.edu/campus/.
Once you arrive on campus, please park in either Parking Structure 2 or Parking Structure 3, for they are both equidistant from the law school, and just a brief walk to your destination.
The Alumni Celebration & Fundraising Dinner:
The Alumni Celebration & Fundraising Dinner will take place in Covel Commons. For those attending the dinner, parking will be available at the nearby Sunset Villahge Parking Structure. Please find a map and directions for both Covel Commons and the Sunset Village Parking lot at the following link: http://cdn.law.ucla.edu/SiteCollectionDocuments/Critical%20Race%20Studies/CovelMapDirections.pdf. (To get a sense of where Covel is located in relation to the UCLA School of Law, please see the following map.)
Transportation and Shuttle/Taxi Services:
From Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), there are two main shuttle services. You do not have to book either of these options in advance; you can simply go to the shuttle or bus stop near the airport terminal and catch an available shuttle. However, you will need to get directions to the bus stop or shuttle service area once you arrive at LAX.
1) FlyAway Bus
- Will drop you off in UCLA Parking Lot 32. From there, you can take a taxi to the Hotel Angeleno, or wherever your destination may be.
- Price: $5 (one-way)
- Shuttles provides free Wi-Fi service
- For your convenience, we attached FlyAway’s brochure – complete with daily schedule and maps – with this e-mail.
- Link for further information: http://www.lawa.org/welcome_lax.aspx?id=292
2) Super Shuttle
You may also explore the following taxi options* from LAX:
1) Yellow Cab Co.
2) Beverly Hills Cab
*Please note: While taxis are a reliable service and the distance to the Hotel Angeleno is not long, should you arrive during rush hour, you could spend a great amount of time sitting in traffic on the freeway and thus incur a hefty charge. Accordingly, we would recommend that you use one of the other travel options, such as the Super Shuttle or FlyAway bus.
Finally, for navigating the UCLA campus, please also consider UCLA’s Campus Express shuttle. This is a convenient, free service, and its hours of operation are: 7:30 am to 6 pm, Monday – Friday. For more information, including a list and map of stops, please review the following link: http://www.transportation.ucla.edu/maps/cemap/CEMAP.htm.
Bus lines that travel to UCLA on Hilgard from Sunset Blvd all have stops that are a short walk to the law school, which is at the corner of Hilgard and Wyton Avenue in Westwood. Because these buses travel on the same streets that will affect car traffic, we also advise you to allocate extra time for your trip to UCLA and to consult any ride-planning tools provided by the bus service you will be using to get to UCLA. The most convenient bus stop for UCLA would be the intersection of Hilgard and Westholme Ave., which offers a brisk, 5-minute walk to the law school grounds.
