Advanced Trial Preparation

This is an advanced course in trial advocacy that challenges students to prepare for trial in short periods of time. Syracuse University College of Law hosts the National Trial League, a trial simulation competition over Zoom throughout the Fall. Every two weeks, we will prepare and then try a new case. Two students will try each case, but the entire class will help them develop their case presentation. We will use this as an educational opportunity to improve our development of case theories and themes, witness examination skills, and use of trial technology. Each simulation exercise will include student performance, self-assessment, and individualized feedback from peers and the instructor.
