About Us |
About Us UCLA’s ACS chapter is one of the most active student organizations on campus, despite only being in existence since 2004. We are comprised of law students with a progressive vision of the Constitution and a commitment to promoting this vision to the overall UCLA School of Law community as well as the Los Angeles community. ACS is a national organization of law students, lawyers, scholars, judges, policymakers, and others who are committed to ensuring that fundamental principles of human dignity, individual rights and liberties, genuine equality, and access to justice are given their rightful, central place in American Law. ACS educates about and advocates for a progressive vision of the law, focusing on issues such as access to the courts, anti-discrimination and affirmative action, civil liberties; consumer rights; criminal justice; disability rights; freedom of speech; gay rights; international human rights; immigration; labor law; open government; privacy; protection of health, safety and the environment; and women's rights and reproductive choice.
