UCLA School of Law receives notices and information about various scholarships, fellowships and writing competitions sponsored by other law schools, universities, foundations, alumni associations, bar associations, etc. The Financial Aid Office will post such notices on this page as received.

JOHN LEWIS KING SCHOLARSHIP
The John Lewis King Memorial Scholarship Fund, co-sponsored and supported by the San Bernardino County Bar Association, is now accepting applications from second and third year law students. Our deadline for application is September 5th, and we will award to one student a scholarship of $7,500.00.

LATHAM & WATKINS DIVERSITY SCHOLARS PROGRAM
The Latham & Watkins Diversity Scholars Program is designed to increase the number of diverse law students studying at ABA-accredited law schools who want to pursue a career in a global law firm, and intend to practice law in the United States. The program was launched in 2005, and for the first six years, the firm selected four Diversity Scholars each year to receive $10,000 scholarships. In 2012, the program was expanded to award six $10,000 scholarships to second-year students. Factors considered in choosing the Diversity Scholars include academic and leadership achievements, life experiences and challenges that have shaped values, and a desire to practice at a global law firm and contribute to its diversity objectives.

ITALIAN AMERICAN LAWYERS ASSOCIATION 2014 SCHOLARSHIP
For over 20 years, the Italian American Lawyers Association of Los Angeles (“IALA”) has offered scholarship opportunities for law students throughout Southern California.  We thank you for allowing us to continue with this fine tradition. This year we are offering a $3,000.00 award.  In addition, the recipient of the Scholarship will be honored at our upcoming meeting with the California Supreme Court.

THE HONORABLE PATRICIA HERRON AND THE HONORABLE ELLEN JAMES SCHOLARSHIP
The Contra Costa County Bar Association’s Women’s Section is offering this scholarship to a deserving law student (or students) with demonstrated leadership potential, academic success, and a commitment to women’s issues.   The scholarship amount ranges from $1,000 to $10,000, depending on the quality of our applicants and the amount of deserving candidates.

1-800-LAW-FIRM SCHOLARSHIP ESSAY CONTEST
Scholarship writing contest challenging law school students to demonstrate with an essay of at least 1,000 words how they would improve the legal system. The grand prize is a $10,000 law school scholarship that will be decided on November 24,2014. Entries will be accepted from Tuesday, July 1, through Sunday, Oct. 5.

This $1,000 scholarship is available to students pursuing a career in law. Applicants must submit a 500-word essay on the topic, "Who or what is your inspiration for pursuing a career in law?"

CONSTANGY, BROOKS & SMITH DIVERSITY SCHOLARS AWARD
Constangy, Brooks & Smith initiated its Diversity Scholars Awards program to recognize the achievements of law students who have demonstrated academic achievement, a commitment to diversity in their community, school or work environment, and personal achievements in overcoming challenges to reach goals. One student will receive a $2,500 scholarship. To be eligible, you must be a second-year student enrolled in an accredited law school.

FARZAD FAMILY LAW SCHOLARSHIP
As strong advocates for higher learning, Farzad Family Law is proud to give back to aspiring lawyers through the Farzad Family Law Scholarship. This $3,000 scholarship is awarded to one student based on merit. To apply, you will need to submit an essay on the question, “Should the right to marry for same-sex couples become a federal constitutional right by amendment to the United States Constitution or remain a State issue?”

THE PEARCE LAW FIRM - EMPOWERING WOMEN IN LAW SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship opportunity is open to women nationwide who are currently attending a law school in the United States.
