LATHAM & WATKINS
DIVERSITY SCHOLARS PROGRAM
The Latham & Watkins Diversity Scholars Program is designed to
increase the number of diverse law students studying at ABA-accredited law
schools who want to pursue a career in a global law firm, and intend to
practice law in the United States. The program was launched in 2005, and for
the first six years, the firm selected four Diversity Scholars each year to
receive $10,000 scholarships. In 2012, the program was expanded to award six
$10,000 scholarships to second-year students. Factors considered in choosing
the Diversity Scholars include academic and leadership achievements, life
experiences and challenges that have shaped values, and a desire to practice at
a global law firm and contribute to its diversity objectives.

ITALIAN AMERICAN LAWYERS ASSOCIATION 2014 SCHOLARSHIP
For over 20 years, the Italian American Lawyers Association of Los Angeles (“IALA”) has offered scholarship opportunities for law students throughout Southern California. This scholarship is part of The Richard Linn American Inn of Court's commitment to fostering the development of intellectual property lawyers of high ethics, civility and professionalism, and especially those from diverse backgrounds. The recipient of the scholarship receives $5,000 to be applied to their legal education. This scholarship is available to law students who have entered into a JD program at an ABA-accredited law school in the United States and who will continue in that program through the Fall semester 2015.

Constangy, Brooks & Smith initiated its Diversity Scholars Awards program to recognize the achievements of law students who have demonstrated academic achievement, a commitment to diversity in their community, school or work environment, and personal achievements in overcoming challenges to reach goals. One student will receive a $2,500 scholarship. To be eligible, you must be a second-year student enrolled in an accredited law school.

AVVO SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
This year marks the first annual Avvo Scholars Circle and Scholarship Program. Avvo has created this program to help inspire future generations of lawyers to innovate and impact change in the industry and our local communities. JD Law Students will have the opportunity to win a $10,000 scholarship and be admitted to the newly-created Avvo Scholars Circle, Class of 2015. In addition to being named to the Scholars Circle, one student will be selected for a 10-15 min speaking slot at Lawyernomics on the topic of their essay submission.

THE RICHARD D. CUDAHY WRITING COMPETITION ON REGULATORY AND ADMINISTRATIVE LAW
The competition is open to all types of lawyers and law students. Practicing lawyers, policymakers, academics, and law students all are encouraged to take part. The author of the winning paper in each category (lawyer and law student) will receive a cash prize of $1,500. The winning papers will receive special recognition at the Summer 2015 ACS National Convention, on the ACS website, and potentially through other means agreed upon by the authors and ACS.

THE BEVERLY HILLS BAR FOUNDATION 6TH ANNUAL RULE OF LAW COMPETITION
The Beverly Hills Bar Foundation announces the 6th Annual Rule of Law Competition to promote appreciation and understanding of the rule of law. Entries are due no later than April 1, 2015. Prizes will be awarded at the 61st Annual Beverly Hills Bar Association Supreme Court Luncheon in June 2015. Grand Prize is $2,500.00,with two Honorable Award prizes of $500.00 each.

THE WALLIN & KLARICH SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship is available to all college seniors in California who will be attending an accredited California law school in the fall of 2015 and are interested in pursuing a career in criminal justice. To apply for this scholarship, the student must write a single 700-1000 word essay. The applicant who is selected to receive the scholarship will be announced no later than June 30, 2015, and a $3,000 check will be issued to his or her prospective law school which must be applied toward law school tuition, books and/or other course required materials.
