A
Message from Jeffrey H. Silberman '82, National Chair, 2012 Reunion Challenge
Dear UCLA Law Classmates,
I am thrilled to invite everyone to attend the UCLA Law
Alumni Reunion on May 19, 2012! Dean Moran and the entire reunion committee
will be on hand to welcome UCLA Law’s first graduating class, the class of ’52,
as well as alumni from ‘62, ‘67, ‘72, ‘77, ‘82, ‘87, ‘92, ‘97, ‘02, and ’07, as
we come together with our extended law school family. Over the course of the
weekend we will have our Law Alumni of the Year Award Luncheon, a reception for
all of our reunion alums, and a dinner for each class at the Law School. Join
us, and see why UCLA continues to be a center of innovation and achievement as
you catch up with old
friends, visit with professors, and share memories!
The UCLA School of Law is one of the
most dynamic law schools in the nation, with outstanding programs and
incredibly bright students. It is because of my pride in this great institution
that I feel especially compelled to support UCLA Law each year. State
support for UCLA Law continues to drop, and the law school now operates with
only 25% of its budget from state funding – down from almost full funding in
1986. Despite these challenges, UCLA School of Law is thriving.
Alumni support helps to bridge the
gap, assuring our place among the top law schools in the country. So in
addition to attending the reunion in May, I also encourage you to make a gift
in honor of your reunion. Participation by alumni is one of the factors used to
boost our national rankings, and will help make an outstanding law school
education possible for this generation and others to follow.
As you consider attendance at the reunion and your
financial support of the school, please reflect upon the impact your education
at UCLA Law has made on your life! I know that my law school education has
helped me in countless ways and continues to be a tremendous asset.
So please save the date, plan to
attend, spread the good word and honor your reunion class with your financial
commitment to UCLA Law. Check back soon for more information on the 2012
UCLA Law Reunion.
Sincerely,

Jeffrey H. Silberman '82
