APALJ: Symposium: Securing a Foothold, 2004 |
APALJ symposium 2004
APIs who are naturalized or native citizens can receive the benefits of citizenship. Nevertheless, APIs are constantly perceived as foreigners or outsiders. Furthermore, the rights of API immigrants who are not citizens are restricted and limited. How does the legal community, grass-roots organizers, and elected officials advocate on behalf of this diverse group? Keynote Speaker Daphne Kwok, Featured Speaker L. Ling-Chi Wang, Professor, UC Berkeley Panels Voting Rights Combating Terrorism in the Homeland Alternative Political Strategies Lunch will be provided. The Symposium will be followed by an evening reception (from 5:00pm - 7:00pm). 4.5 hours of general MCLE credit are available. The UCLA School of Law is a State Bar of California approved MCLE provider.
