International Clinical Conference Series
The clinical program conducts a series of international conferences designed to advance the content and goals of clinical legal education and scholarship. Four of the conferences have been held at the beautiful UCLAConferenceCenteratLake Arrowhead,California, while the other was held in theUnited Kingdom.
The Seventh International Clinical Conference, entitled " Complex Clinical Clients: Lawyering Beyond the Individual Client" was held November 4-7, 2010. Please visit the conference website for more information.
The Sixth International Clinical Conference, entitled "Enriching Clinical Education" was held in October 2005. We are particularly happy to report that this was a truly international conference, as we hosted clinical scholars from Australia, China, the Czech Republic, England, India, Israel, Japan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Scotland.
The conference centered on four broad themes: Skills Training Revisited, Structuring the Clinical Experience, Learning from Other Perspectives and the Globalization of Clinical Legal Education. Under these broad rubrics, the schedule offered a series of panels that described and evaluated ways in which clinical pedagogy is responding to the challenge of preparing our students to work in an increasingly complex, multi-party, technologically sophisticated, interdisciplinary, global legal world.
