Mark Jariabka is the Executive Director of Islands First, an environmental nonprofit dedicated to building the capacity of small island developing states to advance their environmental agendas.
Small islands represent the front line of the climate change crisis. The people of these island countries have been, and will continue to be, the first to suffer the negative consequences of climate change. At the same time, these developing island countries have done the least to contribute to the climate change problem.
Mark is also affiliated with Ecologic Institute, an environmental policy research organization based in Berlin. In his role at Ecologic Institute, Mark focuses on climate change policy in the Arctic and researches issues related to energy, water and indigenous rights.
