This lecture course will introduce students to research methods and sources unique to international and foreign law. Major topics covered will include treaty research, United Nations documents, European Union documents, and methods for finding the law of foreign jurisdictions. Several lectures will be devoted to specialized topics, including international human rights, international trade law, and international environmental law. Emphasis will be on English language materials, and will cover both print and online sources. The course will include several short readings introducing the various topics to be covered, and grading will be based on several practical assignments that allow students to use the sources learned about in class.
