This course will explore 21st Century land use public controls, private practice and litigation in California from basic planning, zoning, subdivision controls and official mapping to regional growth management, sustainability and environmentally sensitive land protection. The course will use Professor Freilich's Case Book, Cases and Materials on Land Use (West, 5th ed. 2008) (with Callies and Roberts) and supplementary material. A final examination will be given.
