1. What is the difference between my Bruin Online and my LawNET account?

As a member of the UCLA School of Law, you receive a LawNET account and email. However, as a member of the UCLA community, you also receive a main campus a.k.a. Bruin Online (BOL) email account. Please note that these two email addresses are  unique and different and not associated with each other's services.

2. Is it possible to change the username of my LawNET account or email address?

Unfortunately, due to the nature of our account creations, it is not possible to change one's username.

3. I am thinking of purchasing a new laptop. What do you suggest?

LawNET IT does not officially endorse any particular laptop or brand name. However, we HIGHLY suggest that any laptop purchased come with a  three-year warranty, as that will protect your computer from unnecessary hardware problems on your computer.

Both the UCLA Student Store (located in Ackerman Union) and the UCLA preferred vendor KST Data offer academic discounts. For further information, please visit their websites at the UCLA Store or KST Data. Both websites will ask you to login with either your BOL ID or 9 digit University ID number (UID).

4. Can I buy a Apple Macintosh?

Yes, you can purchase a Mac. As the Mac community continues to grow we are constantly ramping up our Mac support. Please keep in mind, since Apple support is relatively new to the Law School there might be new technical issues that may not have an immediate resolution to.  And yes, Examsoft currently runs on the OSX platform.

As part of the UCLA community, your Bruin Online account entitles you to access for licensed software available to all UCLA students, faculty, and staff at no charge .
