RISHWAIN SOCIAL JUSTICE ENTREPRENEURSHIP AWARD
The goal of this prize is to publicly acknowledge UCLA students who collaborate with non-profit organizations to address social justice issues. In order to be considered applicants are required to submit a document (no more than 500 words) that describes the work you’ve done and two letters of support with original signatures. Two winning applicants will receive $2500.

CSW PAULA STONE LEGAL RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP
This fellowship is open to all full or part time law students for the purpose of funding a research project related to women. In order to be considered applicants are required to submit a 3-5 page abstract, a budget statement, curriculum vitae, a transcript, and 2 letters of recommendation. The winning entry will receive a cash award of $3000 to fund his/her project.

sOUTHERN CALIFORNIA CHINESE LAWYERS ASSOCIATION Scholarship
The Scholarships are awarded based on need, academic accomplishments, and/or potential contribution to the Chinese-American community. Law students at all levels are encouraged to apply (including first, third year day, and fourth year evening). Applicants are required to submit their completed application by the deadline written above. The Southern California Chinese Lawyers Association ("SCCLA") annually awards several $1,000 Scholarships and two to four $2,000 Fellowships to local Asian/Pacific American.

2011 HOGAN/ SMOGER ACCESS TO JUSTICE ESSAY CONTEST
This competition is focused around the question “Are Factory Farms Hog-Tying People’s Rights?” Essays should not exceed 50 pages in length and the winner will receive $5000 cash prize. The intent to submit for should be turned in by the end of the month however the actual essay itself is due on March 31, 2011.

BEVERLY HILLS BAR FOUNDATION RULE OF LAW COMPETITION
This competition is open to all full or part time law students and applicants should submit a paper that is related to the Rule of Law. All submissions should be an original work from the applicant and papers should be between 4000 and 5000 words. The winning entry will receive a cash prize of $2500; there will also be 2 honorable mention award prizes of $500 each.

Kern County Women Lawyers Foundation Scholarship
The goal of this prize is to reward future male and female lawyers with a connection to Kern County. In order to be considered applicants are required to submit there application, transcripts and a brief statement personal statement that describes any business, professional, community or school activities in which you have been involved; outlines your qualifications; describes your connection to Kern County, California; sets forth your short term and long term goals upon successful completion of law school and the bar exam. There will be at least one scholarship given out ranging from $250 to $3000.

MICHIGAN AUTO LAW DIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP
A scholarship of $2,000 will be awarded to a law student who contributes to the diversity of the law school student body as they pursue their legal career. The scholarship program is open to students currently in their first or second year of law school and the recipient must be a member of an ethnic or racial minority or demonstrate a defined commitment to issues of diversity within their academic career.

ACC DIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP STUDENT BAR REVIEW GRANT APPLICATION
The purpose of this scholarship program is to pay for one bar review course for each recipient. Eligibility is limited to full time and part time minority law students who (a) have experienced financial hardship during their law school career and may have had to forgo taking a bar review course if not for this program, and (b) will graduate with a JD at the end of the Spring 2012.

This competition is focused around any aspect of public or private sector labor and/ or employment law relevant to the American labor and employment bar. Essays should not exceed 20 pages in length and the winner will receive $1500. There will also be a second place prize of $1000 and a $500 third place prize.

IADC LEGAL WRITING CONTEST
This competition is focused around any subject of practical concern to lawyers engaged in the defense or management of the defense of civil litigation such as relavent aspects of tort law, insurance law, civil procedure, evidence, damages, alternative dispute resolution procedures, and professional ethics. There is no maximum or minimum length and the winner will receive $2000. There will also be a second place prize of $1000 and a $500 third place prize.

AJA TWENTY- FOURTH ANNUAL LAW STUDENT ESSAY COMPETITION
This competition is open to all full or part time law students and should be focused around the question “Is it constitutional for a legislative body to require a DNA test for all persons arrested and charged with a felony?” Papers should be 10-25 pages in length and the winning entry will receive a cash prize of $3000. $1500 and $1000 will be given to the second and third place winners.

UNIVERSITY OF CONNECTICUT STUDENT LEGAL WRITING COMPETITION
This competition is open to all full or part time law students and applicants should submit a paper that is related to legal issues affecting persons struggling with homelessness, mental illness, addiction, or substance abuse. All submissions should be an original work from the applicant and papers should be between 15 and 30 pages. The winning entry will receive a cash prize of $750; there will also be 2 honorable mention award prizes of $500 and $250.

The winning entry will receive a cash prize of $1000 and second place winners will receive $500. The winning essay will also be published in The California International Law Journal.
