Judith Gordon is the Director of Marketing at Buchalter Nemer, responsible for business development and media relations initiatives at the firm. Gordon initiated and implemented Buchalter Nemer’s Business Development Academy for associates and senior counsel, an internal mentoring program that teaches the attorneys fundamental business development skills, and enables them to build their own practices as they develop their legal expertise. Gordon is co-teaching “The Law and Your Life: Aligning Personal Values with the Practice of Law / Fundamentals of Professional Development,” with Professor Klee.
Gordon practiced law for five years prior to segueing into business communications. She is also a certified mediator. Gordon was Associate Director of Communications at the Milken Institute, an economic think tank in Santa Monica for six years, where she co-authored, Economic Prosperity, Women and Access to Credit: Best Practices in the Financial Market, 2000, a Special Report commissioned by the National Women’s Business Council, the Advisory Panel to the U.S. President and Congress on economic issues important to women business owners. Gordon also writes and speaks to lawyers on issues of stress, and techniques that manage stress in practice. Her article, “Your Practice or Your Life—Overcoming Modern-day Stressors,” appeared in the Daily Journal.
Gordon earned her B.A. in Biology at Wayne State University (1976) and her J.D. from Wayne State University Law School (1981).
