Charles Lifland co-teaches the Ninth Circuit Appellate Practice Clinic.  Lifland is a partner in O’Melveny & Myers’ Los Angeles office and a member of their class actions, mass torts, and aggregated litigation practice.  His practice focuses on class action and appellate work in the fields of mass torts, antitrust and unfair business practices, securities, and punitive damages.  He is co-chair of the firm’s appellate practice and has handled complex business litigation and significant appeals in federal and state courts both in and beyond California.

Lifland earned his B.S. in 1979 from Yale University, graduating magna cum laude and with a distinction in economics.  He received his J.D. magna cum laude in 1982 from Harvard University.  After law school, Lifland clerked for the Honorable Mariana R. Pfaelzer, U.S. District Court, Central District of California (1982-83).
