Assistant Dean Elizabeth Cheadle is herself a graduate of UCLA School of Law and served as Editor-in-Chief of the UCLA Law Review. Prior to returning to the law school as Dean of Students in 1995, she had a varied career in the private and public sectors, including a clerkship for Judge Harry Pregerson on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and a stint as a corporate and real estate attorney in private practice. Following that, she was district office director for a member of the California State Legislature and staff counsel to the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy, a public agency engaged in the preservation of open space and parkland in the greater Los Angeles area. She continues to serve the Conservancy in a volunteer capacity as the California State Senate’s appointee to the agency’s governing Board. Her breadth of work and life experience and first-hand understanding of the law school's curriculum enables her to provide valuable academic and non-academic counseling to all UCLA Law students.
