Neil J Wertlieb co-teaches Lifecycle of a Corporation with Brett Goldblatt. Mr. Wertlieb received his B.S. and J.D. from UC Berkeley. While at UC Berkeley School of Law, he served as an associate editor on law review and as a Judicial Extern for Justice Stanley Mosk on the California Supreme Court.

Mr. Wertlieb is a partner at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP, where his practice focuses on corporate transactions, primarily acquisitions, securities offerings and restructurings. He is admitted to practice in California, New York and Washington, DC.  Mr. Wertlieb is a member of the California State Bar's Ethics Committee (the Committee on Professional Responsibility and Conduct), and the former Chairman of the Business Law Section of the California State Bar and its Corporations Committee.

Prior to joining Milbank in 1995, Mr. Wertlieb was general counsel for a large public telecommunications and broadcast company and the General Counsel of the Los Angeles Kings Hockey Team. He is a frequent public speaker on corporate law topics and legal ethics, is on the Editorial Advisory Board of the Business Law News (a publication of the State Bar of California), and was recognized as one of the top 100 most influential lawyers in California (California Law Business, October 30, 2000).
