Paul Habibi is a lecturer in real estate at the UCLA Anderson Graduate School of Management, where he has been a finalist for the “Teacher of the Year Award” every year he has taught M.B.A. students. Habibi began his teaching career at UCLA in 2004, and teaches in the areas of real estate finance, development and social entrepreneurship.
Habibi is Principal of Habibi Properties, LLC, which owns over 1,600 apartment units in the Los Angeles area, and he is the Managing Member of Arrowhead Residential Funds 1, 2, 3 and 4, which invest in distressed housing in Kansas City, Missouri. He is also Principal of Grayslake Advisors, LLC, which provides expert witness and consulting services and counts as one of its clients star attorney David Boies, as well as the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Habibi regularly presents to leading business, government, and nonprofit organizations. Recently, he authored and presented the centerpiece report for the 2012 Mayoral Housing, Transportation and Jobs Summit. Habibi is also widely quoted in the media, appearing on BBC World News, Bloomberg, CNN, FOX News, NBC's "The Today Show," NPR, and all major dailies including the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, and Financial Times. He serves on the Board of Directors of Pacific Charter School Development, and as advisor to the Los Angeles Streetcar project.
Habibi earned his B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 1995, and his M.B.A., with highest distinction, from the University of Michigan in 2003. He is a licensed CPA and Real Estate Salesperson in the State of California.
