LAW 725 - Supreme Court Clinic

In this course students work on real cases before the United States Supreme Court, while learning how the Court selects and decides its cases and how lawyers shape their arguments.  Our work consists primarily of drafting certiorari petitions and amicus briefs, and sometimes we get to draft merits briefs as well.  Most of our cases involve criminal procedure issues, but in past years we've also had cases involving issues in a wide range of other areas of law.

The work in this clinic is entirely research and writing.  This is a good course for students interested in developing those skills, but it is not a good course for students primarily interested in interacting with clients or appearing in court.
