Information technology is used to support the teaching, research, and public service missions of UCLA School of Law. The school's computing environment is designed to respond to the changing needs of the law school community and is used to enhance the educational process, support research projects, facilitate administrative business and prepare students for entry into the legal profession. The Information Technology Department (LawNET IT) is responsible for providing computing and audio-visual infrastructure, technology services, user support and training services for the UCLA School of Law students, faculty, and staff.
Faculty, staff, and students receive network accounts (your LawNET account), which provide access to a wide array of network services and applications, such as email, Microsoft Office, LexisNexis, Westlaw, the Internet, CD-ROM research tools, databases, and reference programs, as well as access to on-line catalogs of UCLA and the University of California library systems. Through these collaborative resources, LawNET users have access to more than 10,000 electronic databases, journals, electronic books, and other e-resources. For assistance with any of these resources please contact the LawNET Help Desk (310-825-4689 or help@law.ucla.edu).
