UCLA SCHOOL OF LAW
OVERVIEW
UCLA School of Law is pleased to host the 24th Annual Southern California Public Interest Career Day. While held at UCLA School of Law, the Career Day is cosponsored by the Southern California-area law schools, including California Western, Chapman, La Verne, Loyola, Pepperdine, Southwestern, Thomas Jefferson, University of San Diego, University of Southern California, Western State and Whittier. The annual Career Day is designed to expose law students to the practice of law in the public interest and to encourage students to consider a public interest career path. More than 120 nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and private firms are participating in Career Day activities.
Public Interest Career Day is comprised of a number of different activities:
-
Prescheduled, formal interviews for summer and/or postgraduate positions [Friday, February 6th and Saturday, February 7th].
-
An afternoon panel discussion, "Criminal Law: Prosecution and Defense" [Saturday, February 7th].
-
A series of informal lunchtime discussions, each focusing on a different substantive area of public interest practice (e.g., children and youth, environmental law, labor law) [Saturday, February 7th].
-
Informal "table-talk," with representatives of the participating organizations, agencies and firms [Saturday, February 7th].
REGISTRATION

Attendance on Saturday, February 7th is open to all law students from the cosponsoring law schools, as well as to law students from law schools outside Southern California.
