UCLA School of Law Office of Career Services
The advantages to graduating from UCLA School of Law result in a challenging question: How to choose among the vast array of opportunities that a UCLA School of Law degree makes possible. The success of UCLA School of Law graduates is well known throughout the employment market, including in private law firms, private and public agencies, organizations and institutions, government and non-profit entities and corporations. The Office of Career Services’ mission is to provide students and graduates with the tools and strategies necessary to make informed, active decisions about employment opportunities and career paths. The Office team helps students and alumni create an effective framework for a lifetime of active career management through one-on-one counseling, panel presentations, workshops, recruitment programs, job posting databases and other efforts. Connections between students, alumni, and employers also are facilitated by the office.

Professional Staff
The Office has four full-time counselors available to work with students and alumni and to meet with employers. The counselors bring a combined 20 years of experience in career services and another 20 years of practicing law in private law firms, government and in-house counsel settings. They not only assist students and alumni in the career development process, but they remain active members of the legal community and continue to build invaluable relationships with alumni and employers.

In addition to the counselors, there is one recruitment administrator who oversees the large On Campus Interview Programs (OCIP) and other events and two assistants who maintain the job listings, Career Services website, clerkship database, resource library while also assisting students, alumni, and employers.

Assistant Dean of Career Services - Elizabeth C. Moeller
Elizabeth Moeller is the current Assistant Dean of Career Services. Prior to joining the Career Services Office in November 1996, she practiced law for more than five years at the Los Angeles offices of Graham & James and Pepper Hamilton & Scheetz. Beth holds her B.A. from the University of Michigan and her J.D. from Loyola Law School.

The Assistant Dean is responsible for the overall administration of the office; counseling students and alumni; maintaining and establishing relationships with legal employers; acting as a liaison between students, alumni and employers; and facilitating relationships between the faculty and administration and the Office of Career Services.

Directors - Yvonne D. Denenny and Malini Nangia
Yvonne Denenny has been with the Office of Career Services at UCLA School of Law since July 2003.  Prior to joining the Office, Yvonne counseled students about career development issues at another local law school. She also practiced as an attorney for six years, initially at the Los Angeles office of Morrison & Foerster LLP and then at a start-up Internet company. Yvonne received her B.A. in economics from Wellesley College and her J.D. from UCLA School of Law.

Prior to joining UCLA in July 2005, Malini Nangia litigated at the Los Angeles offices of Bryan Cave LLP and Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi LLP.  Malini is a 2003 Loyola Law School alum and received her B.A. from Tufts University in 1999.

The Directors assist with the day-to-day management of the office; counseling students and alumni; overseeing, organizing and presenting career-related programs; maintaining and establishing relationships with legal employers; and acting as a liaison between students, alumni and employers.  Malini also oversees the judicial clerkship application process.

Assistant Director/ Clerkship Coordinator - Karema Page 
Prior to joining UCLA, Karema Page was a corporate lawyer at Bocarsly, Emden, Cowan, Esmail, Parker & Arndt.  Karema holds a JD/MBA from the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York, where she also spent time assisting in the Career Services Office. 

The Assistant Director is responsible for counseling students and alumni; organizing and presenting career-related programs; maintaining and establishing relationships with legal employers; and acting as a liaison between students, alumni and employers. In addition, this position is primarily responsible for assisting students with the judicial clerkship application process. 

Assistant Director/ Alumni Counselor - James Daniels, II  

Assistant Director/ LL.M. Coordinator - Ying Cao
Ms. Ying Cao is the Assistant Director/LL.M Coordinator.  Her responsibilities include advising LL.M. students and developing international opportunities for students.  Ying has a breadth of professional experiences including non-profit, university student services management, and developing and organizing international programs in Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America.

Manager of Legal Recruitment - Linda Kressh

Manager of the Legal Recruitment is responsible for the coordination of the on-campus interview program and all related recruiting activities, including job fairs and receptions.

Judicial Clerkship Assistant - Katie Donat
The Career Services Coordinator and Judicial Clerkship Assistant are your contact individuals at the front office and are responsible for arranging appointments, coordinating the daily job listings, arranging reciprocity, managing career resources, updating and maintaining the career services website, assisting with the fall and spring on campus interview programs, assisting with the coordination of the mock interview, mentor, and judicial clerkship programs, and providing other administrative support.
