Description :
The Williams Institute Moot Court Competition is the only national competition dedicated exclusively to the areas of sexual orientation and gender identity law.  The competition is designed to promote and recognize the finest oral and written advocacy on a significant problem in sexual orientation and gender identity law.  Each year, teams from ABA-accredited law schools across the country register to compete.

Four rounds of arguments, two preliminary rounds, a quarterfinal and semifinal round will take place on Saturday, February 16, 2013. The final round will take place on Friday, April 12, 2013 during the Williams Institute’s 12th Annual Update Conference.  The Williams Institute will cover finalists’ travel expenses for the final round.

2012-2013 Competition Calendar:

October 1, 2012 – Registration opens
November 15, 2012 – Registration closes
December 3, 2012 – Problem released
January 21, 2013 – Last day for questions/problem clarification
January 25, 2013 – Briefs due
February 16, 2013 – Preliminary, quarterfinal & semifinal rounds
April 12, 2013 – Final round of competition
