Date/Time :11/27/2012 12:10 PM - 1:25 PM
Location :UCLA Law, Room 1447
Website :www.international.ucla.edu/burkle
Address :405 Hilgard Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90095
Description :

Introduction by Dr. Thomas Coates, Professor of Medicine & Director of the UCLA Center for World Health. John Heilman, City of West Hollywood Councilmember & former Mayor, also responds, “Making the Global Local.”

Stephen Lewis rejects the conventional wisdom that heroic gains have been made by multilateral agencies against the pandemic. He's happy to acknowledge progress where it's real, but he'll take no prisoners where it's not. And where the failure is most dramatic is in the response to women.

This event is co-sponsored by the UCLA Center for World Health, UC Global Health Institute's Center of Expertise on Women's Health and Empowerment, UCLA Health & Human Rights Law Project & the UCLA Williams Institute.
