18,000 Gay Couples Married in California
Gay City News

November 6, 2008

An estimated 18,000 same-sex couples were married in California by Election Day, the Williams Institute of UCLA's School of Law said in a release. Since there is no sex designation on the marriage certificates, the estimate represents the increase in marriages over the same June 17-November 4 period last year.
