Oklahoma OK?
Gay City News
By: Andy Humm
May 1, 2008

Oklahoma - at least Oklahoma City - is getting a reputation as an intolerant place in light of the anti-gay tirades of State Representative Sally Kern, who calls homosexuality a worse threat to America than terrorism. But the Advocate just named Tulsa as one of the "top five emerging cities for gays and lesbians" and found, using census data compiled by the Williams Institute, that it had 7.74 same-sex couples per 1,000 households in 2006, ranking 46th in the nation - up from number 77 in 2000.

The other cities making big jumps in the same-sex couple department were Plano, Fort Wayne, Anchorage, and Jacksonville.
