The panel, hosted by the Valley Democrats United, the largest Democratic club in the San Fernando Valley, will be held at the Encino Community Center at 7 p.m. The topics of discussion include whether marriage is a civil right or a religious institution and how pending federal and state legislation on gay marriage will affect the outcome of the 2004 presidential election. Guest speakers will be present from such organizations as Log Cabin Republicans, Equality California, Republican Unity Coalition, and Brad Sears and Yuval Merin of the UCLA Williams Project on Sexual Orientation Law and Public Policy will be present.
