Williams Institute Event in DC

On Tuesday evening, June 17th, The Williams Institute, UCLA Law School (a Center that advances sexual orientation and gender identity law and public policy), launched a series of three policy circle discussion gatherings in the D.C. metro area. The topic for the event, which was held at the home of Steven Gorman and Dr. Richard Cytowic, was the New California Court Decision Extending Marriage to Same Sex Couples.

Liz Seaton (Director of Projects and Managing Attorney, National Center for Lesbian Rights), Nan Hunter (Professor, Georgetown Law School), Gary Gates (Senior Research Fellow, The Williams Institute) spoke and Brad Sears, The Williams Institute Executive Director moderated. This event will be followed by two more in the series: one on September 9,2008 on Poverty in the LGBT Community and New Research on Don't Ask, Don't Tell, on December 1, 2008.
