UCLA School of Law receives notices and information about various scholarships, fellowships and writing competitions sponsored by foundations, alumni associations, bar associations, etc. The Financial Aid Office will post applicable notices on this page or our intranet site as received.

COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP CONTEST
As an attorney, Ronald D. Weiss understands the value of higher education as well as the tremendous investment of time and money obtaining one can involve. In an effort to help a new generation meet their educational costs, Mr. Weiss is pleased to announce that he is offering incoming and existing college students an opportunity to win $2,500 college scholarship.

TAYLOR & RING’S ANNUAL VICTIM ADVOCATE SCHOLARSHIP
This annual $5,000 award will be given to a student interested in pursuing the study of law with a specific goal of helping survivors of sexual assault, rape, child abuse, or sexual harassment in the workplace.

THE 2019 HOGAN/SMOGER ACCESS TO JUSTICE ESSAY COMPETITION
The competition is open to all current law students, post 2015 law graduates, and all masters of law students. Co-authored submissions are eligible; if selected, the co-authors will share the prize. Each submission must be an original, unpublished academic work, but simultaneous submissions will be accepted. The winner will receive $5,000. Only one winning paper will be chosen and only one prize awarded.

2019 ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP COMPETITION
Our law firm, Mushkatel, Robbins & Becker, PLLC, will award a total of $2,500 in scholarships to students who submit winning essays and videos.

2019 RIZIO LIBERTY LIPINSKY LAWYER SCHOLARSHIP

EARL WARREN SCHOLARSHIP
In honor of his memory, the $30,000 ($10,000 per year) Earl Warren Scholarship is awarded annually to rising law students whose commitment to racial justice reveals outstanding potential for training as civil rights and public interest attorneys. Eligible law students include those entering their first or second year of full-time legal study at an accredited law school.

MIKE EIDSON SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship fund was established by the AAJ Women for Justice Education Fund in 2008, in honor of AAJ Past President Mike Eidson, whose vision and generosity inspired it. The Mike Eidson Scholarship awards $5,000 annually to a female student entering her third year of law school who has demonstrated a commitment to a career as a trial lawyer, along with dedication to upholding and defending the principles of the Constitution, and to the concept of a fair trial, the adversary system, and a just result for the injured, the accused, and those whose rights are jeopardized.

LAW OFFICES OF RANDOLPH RICE SCHOLARSHIP 2019
We understand that the leaders of tomorrow are working and often sacrificing to receive an education today. That’s why in 2016 we launched our annual Law Offices of Randolph Rice Scholarship. The purpose is to award a $1,500 scholarship each year to a deserving student to apply towards college costs and help that student realize his or her potential.

RICHARD D. HAILEY SCHOLARSHIP
AAJ’s Minority Caucus will award a $5,000 scholarship to a minority law student member who is entering his/her first, second, or third year of law school. The winner must attend the AAJ Annual Convention in San Diego, Cal. to receive the award. Travel and accommodations will be provided.

APABA PUBLIC INTEREST SCHOLARSHIP
Established in 2000, the APABA Public Interest Scholarship is awarded annually to a law student who demonstrates a commitment to making a contribution to the Asian Pacific American community. The APABA Public Interest Fellow receives a $5,000 grant to spend at least 10 weeks of his or her summer working at a Los Angeles County nonprofit organization in a unit that serves the APIA community.

LMJ SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
In 2004, the MCCA established the Lloyd M. Johnson, Jr. Scholarship (“LMJ Scholarship”) program. The LMJ Scholarship program seeks to nurture the academic and professional careers of outstanding law students and advancing the diversity pipeline to the legal profession. The LMJ Scholarship Program provides financial support to incoming first-year law students pursuing a juris doctorate degree. Up to 6 scholarships of $10,000 will be awarded to incoming first year law students.

THE SILVERMAN, MCDONALD & FRIEDMAN EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP
This $5,000 scholarship will be awarded to a law student who is dedicated to upholding the rights of the injured. The successful candidate will be enrolled, or have proof of future enrollment, in an accredited college, university or law school for the upcoming academic year.

THE CRANDALL & PERA LAW LEGAL SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship awards $3,000 to a student who has demonstrated an interest in a career as a trial lawyer, and a passion for representing injured individuals whose rights have been jeopardized.

Only students, who have a 3.0 GPA or higher may apply for this scholarship. This $2,000 scholarship award will be sent directly to the winner’s school and can be used for all school-related expenses.

JUDGE JOHN R. BROWN AWARD
The Judge John R. Brown Scholarship Foundation is pleased to announce the twenty-sixth annual Brown Award. The Award honors excellence in legal writing in American law schools. Any law student currently enrolled in an accredited law school in the United States seeking a J.D. or LL.B degree is eligible to submit a paper for the Award. There are multiple awards for 2019, including a $10,000 First Place award, a $5,000 Second Place award and a $3,000 Third Place award.

PIPELINE DIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP
The National Association of Minority & Women Owned Law Firms (NAMWOLF) is seeking applicants for our 2019 regional Pipeline Diversity Scholarship.  The Pipeline Diversity Scholarship seeks to provide financial support to students who contribute to the diversity of the law school student body as they pursue their legal career. NAMWOLF will provide two (2) scholarships in the amount of $10,000 each for the 2019-20 law school year.
