Annual Southern California Public Interest/Public Sector Career Day

This annual early spring semester career fair, hosted by the School of Law and cosponsored by Southern California-area law schools, includes formal interviews for summer and postgraduate positions, panel discussions, informal lunchtime discussions focusing on different substantive areas of public interest practice, and informal "table-talk."

Our 33nd Annual Southern California Public Interest/Public Sector Career Day is scheduled for Saturday, February 10, 2018. The Office of Public Interest Programs will send out invitations to employers via the online Symplicity system. UCLA LL.M. Interview Program (Formerly West Coast International LL.M. Job Fair)

Find global talent

Employers interested in enlisting international and other specialized legal talent are invited to attend the UCLA LL.M. Interview Program (Formerly West Coast International LL.M. Job Fair), to be held on February 23, 2018 - registration information.

Organized and hosted by UCLA School of Law, a consortium of 18 law schools participate in this program. Employers have the opportunity to pre-select LL.M. candidates from a collective pool of high caliber students who hold their law degrees from around the globe.

Small / Mid-Sized Law Firm Reception

Small and mid-sized law firms are of increasing importance in recruitment efforts at UCLA Law. The Office of Career Services offers a wide range of opportunities for our students and graduates, including a networking event hosted every March where students connect with representatives from more than 40 law firms. In the past, approximately 200 students and more than 75 practitioners from 25 practice areas attended the event.

The Small / Mid-sized Law Firm Reception will take place in March 2018 with the exact date TBD.

Government and Public Interest Information Fair

Annual UCLA Law Government and Public Interest Information Fair

During the first combined Government Reception and Public Interest Information Fair, propective employers worked with the Office of Career Services and the Office of Public Interest Programs in order to:

  • Help UCLA law students learn about the world of public service
  • Share their insight and experiences in an informal setting
  • Educate students about their summer and postgraduate hiring practices and procedures

UCLA is one of six law schools across the country chosen to participate in off-campus interview programs in the Bay Area, Chicago, New York, and Washington, DC. The interview programs offer flexibility in recruiting to meet your needs. You may specify hiring criteria and applicant materials and then choose to interview only those candidates you preselect.

Diversity Job Fairs

The Office of Career Services hosts informational programs and diversity events where students and lawyers can have candid conversations about practicing as a diverse lawyer.

One such program is the annual Law Firm Diversity Reception which includes law firms of all sizes, corporate counsel and affinity bar associations. Sponsoring organizations pay a fee that supports the Law Fellows Program in its continuing efforts to increase diversity in legal education. In the past, more than 40 law firms and organizations sponsored this important event.
