Are you using LinkedIn effectively for career success? If you’re like most law students and lawyers, you’re probably not. Learn why and how you can leverage LinkedIn to improve your career and job search process at this program, How LinkedIn Can Help You Get a Job Faster. LinkedIn is the most important social network for establishing a professional online presence. It’s a platform to represent yourself in the best light to prospective employers who are trying to get a handle on who you are as a job candidate. When used well, it is a powerful networking tool for fostering career growth.  

In this fun, fast-paced session, you will learn how to:

  • Create an effective profile to represent yourself professionally and illustrate your strengths and credentials
  • Expand your professional network and increase your visibility
  • Increase your reach for job opportunities
  • Communicate effectively with your network Plus lots of tips, tricks, and do's and don'ts for using social media!  

Free Professional Headshots: Prior to the LinkedIn Workshop, a photographer will be present to take professional head shots of students and alumni attending the event on a first come first served basis.  To request a photo appointment, email Tina Lee at lee@law.ucla.edu.  You will be notified of your appointment time, between 2 and 4 p.m. on October 16th, closer to the date of the event.  The photo session is free and workshop attendees will receive a link to the website containing all of the participants’ photos where you can download a free electronic copy of your photo.

WHO: Michelle Sherman is Senior Corporate Counsel – Litigation at Farmers Insurance in Southern California. Michelle has advised businesses on the legal issues surrounding the use of social media by them and their employees.
