IVF labs switch embryos. Pharmacists misfill prescriptions for birth control. Obstetricians tell women their healthy fetuses would be stillborn. What should courts do when professional negligence leaves couples without the baby they longed for? Or when it hands individuals the baby they set out to avoid having? Or gives people not just any baby, but one whose particular traits—of genetic health, or otherwise—are different than the ones they carefully selected?

"Birth Rights and Wrongs" lifts the curtain on reproductive negligence, gives voice to the lives it upends, and vindicates the interests that advances in medicine and technology bring to full expression.

Professor Fox is a national expert on bioethics and health law. He also teaches and writes in the areas of criminal law, torts, and the regulation of technology.
