Los Angeles Global Health Conference, "2020 and Beyond: Spotlight on a Shared Future"

The conference this year seeks to bring together individuals from various backgrounds to create a dialogue that informs and equips our future global health leaders.

The fifth annual Los Angeles Global Health Conference (LAGHC) will take place on February 1, 2020. The theme of this year's conference is 2020 and Beyond: Spotlight on a Shared Future.

As in past years, LAGHC will be organized by the David Geffen School of Medicine (DGSOM) at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), in collaboration with the University of Southern California (USC). In addition to speakers from the nonprofit, governmental, academic, and activist sectors of global health, LAGHC will also bring together nearly 500 members from UCLA, USC, and the broader Los Angeles community to discuss the state of health disparities in the United States and around the world. The conference aims to bring together individuals from various backgrounds to create a dialogue that informs and equips our future global health leaders, while focusing on humility and transparency as the key to successfully addressing health disparities both in our backyard and abroad. Home to individuals from more than 140 countries speaking 224 different languages, Los Angeles' rich cultural diversity makes it an ideal place to examine the current status of world health. It is our vision that the LAGHC will become a space where people from across the region come to discuss innovative ways to tackle health disparities—both locally and globally.
