February 28, 2014 -- Professor Eugene Volokh commented on a decision by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in which the court upheld a school's decision not to allow students to wear T-shirts with the American flag on them. His comments appear in a San Jose Mercury News article.
"I can't fault the (9th Circuit) for this," said Eugene Volokh, a UCLA law professor. "But, boy, this is a pretty sad commentary. Here we have a school saying it's too dangerous for students to wear an American flag to an American school."
