Professor Volokh Comments on Controversial Gawker Article in The Daily Caller

July 20, 2015 -- Professor Eugene Volokh commented on a controversial story published by Gawker, which could potentially face harsh consequences. His comments appear in The Daily Caller.

Professor Eugene Volokh, of UCLA Law, has stated that even if the story is 100 percent true, Geithner, the Conde Nast CFO, could potentially sue Gawker for publishing private facts that served no public purpose.

“The theory is, if there’s certain information that has to do with a person’s private life that would generally be seen as offensive to have revealed, and that is not newsworthy, that can’t be published.”
