Professor Dolovich Discusses Federal Incarceration and Sentencing Rates in Riverside Business Journal

August 18, 2015 – Professor Sharon Dolovich was quoted in the Riverside Business Journal in an article reporting on federal incarceration and sentencing rates. Although the number of life-term sentences is reportedly in decline, Dolovich pointed to the high increase in federal sentencing that has taken place over the last 30 years.  “In some jurisdictions, state and federal prosecutors will cooperate to decide in which system charges should be filed, with the threat of federal charges held over the heads of offenders to elicit cooperation with prosecutors,” Dolovich said.
