UCLA School of Law to Present Conference on Sexual Assault on College Campuses

UCLA School of Law will present a conference, “Sexual Assault and the Campus: The Role of Title IX,” on Friday, November 6, 2015.   The event is co-sponsored by the UCLA Education and Law Society and the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. 

An introduction and welcome will be offered by UCLA School of Law Dean Jennifer L. Mnookin, and Professor Jill Horwitz, associate director of the Center for Law and Economics. 

Laura Faer, chief attorney, Office of Civil Rights, U.S. Department of Education, will give the keynote address.  Panelists will include UCLA Law faculty, legal professionals, visiting scholars and advocacy leaders. 

Additionally, a special screening of the documentary film, “The Hunting Ground,” an examination of sexual assault on college campuses, will kick-off the conference on Thursday evening, November 5, 2015.  A Q&A with director Kirby Kick and producer Amy Ziering will follow the screening.
