Professor Kimberlè Crenshaw Honored Among Ebony Magazine‚Äôs Power 100

December 2, 2015 – Professor Kimberlè Crenshaw was named to Ebony magazine’s Power 100, an honor given in recognition of those who lead, inspire and demonstrate through their individual talents, the very best in Black America.  

Professor Crenshaw was honored for her work as cofounder of the nonprofit African American Policy Forum, which in 2015 released the report, “Say Her Name: Resisting Police Brutality Against Black Women.” The report detailed how gender, race and sexuality impact violent encounters between Black women and law enforcement. 

Other noteworthy Ebony Power 100 recipients include California Attorney General Kamala Harris, United States Attorney General Loretta Lynch and the activist movement, Black Lives Matter.
