Professor Winkler Quoted in Associated Press Article on Martin Luther King Jr.'s Stance on Guns

January 19, 2016 -- Professor Adam Winkler was quoted in an Associated Press article on Martin Luther King Jr.'s changing stance on gun ownership. The article was published in multiple media outlets, including the Sacramento Bee, ABC News and the Huffington Post.

 “There is nothing in the history that suggests that Martin Luther King felt that guns weren’t useful for self-defense,” said Professor Winkler. “Clearly, guns were used protect (King) ... (He) could not rely on the government.”
