Professor Ann Carlson Cited in Greenwire on How Supreme Court Nominee Garland May Defer to EPA’s Judgement

March 17, 2016 – Professor Ann Carlson was cited in Greenwire on how a past legal decision made by U.S. Supreme Court nominee Merrick Garland may indicate that he would defer to the Environmental Protection Agency’s judgement on legislation involving the Clean Power Plan. 

Citing a previous case, Professor Carlson said Garland’s opinion “is important in signaling that he is likely to defer to EPA's judgment about the best way to regulate sources" under the Clean Power Plan.
