Professor Eugene Volokh cited in Fortune Magazine on Severity of Retweeting Threatening Messages Promoting ISIL

April 6, 2016- Fortune Magazine cited Professor Eugene Volokh in an article which underscored the severity of retweeting threatening messages on Twitter, as the Department of Justice believes these retweets represent the endorsement of terrorist behavior.   Professor Volokh cited a new court filing against Safya Yassin, whose alleged retweets supporting ISIL were used by the Department of Justice to support its case denying that she be granted bail while awaiting criminal charges.

“Her unrelenting support of ISIS/ISIL was patently obvious in her verbatim retweets on August 24, 2015,” said Professor Volokh.
