Professor Volokh Argues Case before 9th Circuit Court of Appeals Involving Free Speech Rights, LA Times Reports

April 7, 2016 – The Los Angeles Times reported that Professor Eugene Volokh successfully argued a case before the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals on behalf of a Fresno State University student who was punished for violating a prohibition on harassment, then sought to sue the university, charging that he was retaliated against for expressing his right to free speech.  The court found that the student could sue for retaliation based on allegations that faculty and administrators punished him for expressing views they disliked. 

Professor Volokh, representing the Student Press Law Center and the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education, argued the case in support of the student.
