Emilie Aguirre of Resnick Program Receives UC Global Food Initiative 30 Under 30 Award

June 15, 2016-- Emilie Aguirre, researcher and policy fellow at the Resnick Program for Food Law and Policy has been named one of the University of California’s Global Food Initiative "30 Under 30" Award recipients.

The Global Food Initiative 30 Under 30 Awards seek to honor the contributions of outstanding young researchers and innovators working to resolve the global food crisis through their work in food-related fields.

Emilie Aguirre, 29, has dedicated her career to researching advanced solutions for a more equitable, sustainable, and transparent global food system. As an Academic Fellow at the Resnick Program, Aguirre has worked to develop and launch a legal intake and referral service for nonprofit organizations and small businesses working to provide healthy, sustainable food production.   In addition to her work teaching food law classes, Aguirre  researches practical solutions to issues facing the global good system. Her work has been published in various leading law and scientific journals nationwide.
