Professor Volokh Talks to Fox News on Laws Addressing Use of Transgender Pronouns

June 7, 2016 – Professor Eugene Volokh spoke to Fox News about laws which aim to address the use of transgender pronouns.  Professor Volokh pointed to laws recently passed in New York City that would penalize employers and landlords who refuse to address their workers or tenants with the pronoun of their choosing.     

 “It requires people to essentially make political statements that they don’t want to make, as the use of ‘ze,’ for instance,” said Professor Volokh. “It requires people to say things that they may sincerely believe are lies and that indeed are contrary to what they see as God’s ordering of the world.”
