Professor Winkler Interviewed on NPR about State Legislation and Assault Weapon Bans

June 17, 2016—Professor Adam Winkler was interviewed on National Public Radio’s “All Things Considered about how gun control acts have surfaced increasingly at the state-level, as Congress’ stall on passing gun control acts after the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary encouraged the movement by state legislators to pass acts banning assault weapons themselves.

"People constantly say, oh, nothing's ever changed, we're at a complete stalemate on guns . And if you only look at Congress, that's right," says Professor Winkler, "but since Newtown, we've seen a wave of legislation at the state level, including restrictive new laws in California and Washington, Oregon, Colorado, New Jersey, Maryland, New York, we can go on and on.”
