Professor Zasloff Writes on ‘Ulysses’, Bloomsday, and Modern Judaism for the Jewish Journal

June 16, 2016—Professor Jonathan Zasloff wrote an article for the Jewish Journal of Greater Los Angeles encouraging modern Jews to add an additional holiday to their calendar: ‘Bloomsday’,  in celebration of what James Joyce’s Ulysses says about the plight of modern Jews.

“Seeing Ulysses as a Jewish book implies a powerful addition to modem Jewish spiritual practices,” writes Professor Zasloff. “It is time for Jews to enthusiastically accept our role in "Ulysses" and adopt Bloomsday as part of the Jewish calendar.”
