Professor Volokh Quoted by U.S. News on Flag Burning Incident that Shook the RNC

Professor Eugene Volokh was quoted in a U.S. News & World Report article about an incident that occurred at the Republican National Convention in which an activist group advocating for a communist revolution tried to set fire to an American flag. Although the Supreme Court maintains that flag-burning is a constitutional right, the men allegedly involved in the incident may still face other charges for threatening public safety. 

“I do caution people against assuming because flag burning is constitutional you can burn a flag wherever you want," says Professor Volokh. “Fire is not something to sneer at -- it can risk setting something on fire, lighting people's clothing on fire.”
