Professor Raustiala Presents at University of Singapore on the Positive Role of Copy-Cats in the Fashion Industry

August 24, 2016—Professor Kal Raustiala presented a public lecture at the National University of Singapore on the subject of fashion copy-cats, copyright and innovation. Professor Raustiala’s presentation challenged the assumption that knockoffs hurt the fashion industry. In fact, Professor Raustiala argues, imitation among retailers and designers is a net positive. His talk entitled “The Piracy Paradox: Can Imitation Spur Innovation?” was presented at the University of Singapore on August 16th.
