Michael T. Roberts of Resnick Program Co-Writes Article for the NY Daily News on Sugary-Beverage Scandal

November 1, 2016—Executive Director of the Resnick Program for Food Law and Policy, Michael T. Roberts, co-wrote an article for the New York Daily News on the recent discovery that the sugary beverage industry paid scientific researchers to downplay the link between drinking sugary beverages and health problems including diabetes, heart disease, and obesity.

According to Roberts, the manipulation of this public health concern makes legal action against the industry more complicated, and keeps the sugary-beverage industry unaccountable for the health problems of people that consume these drinks regularly.
