Professor Hiroshi Motomura Quoted in U.S News on Fears of Deportation by DACA Recipients

November 10, 2016—Professor and immigration expert, Hiroshi Motomura, was quoted in an article for U.S News about a growing uncertainty over the continuation of the DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) program, which allows young people who unlawfully live in the U.S to be granted work permits and driver’s licenses. Many of these so-called “dreamers” fear that under the Trump Administration, the information they provided to the government will be used to locate, detain, and deport them.

"Being in the United States unlawfully is not a crime, so unlawful presence is nothing that needs pardoning," says Professor Hiroshi Motomura.
