Emmett Institute Fellow Nicholas Bryner and Professor Hecht Write Op-Ed for The Conversation on Review of National Monuments

Emmett Institute Fellow Nicholas Bryner and Professor Sean Hecht co-authored an op-ed for The Conversation on how it is unlawful for president Trump to undo or downsize national monuments. In light of the president’s executive order to review the Antiquities Act, Bryner and Hecht argued that “national monuments can be designated only on federal lands already owned or controlled by the United States,” and not state powers, as contested by Trump.
